Wu-Tang Clan Reunites on ‘Daily Show’ For ‘A Better Tomorrow’

A better tomorrow indeed …

One of hip-hop’s most iconic groups, the Wu-Tang Clan, reunited on The Daily Show to perform their new single Ron O’Neal from their new album A Better Tomorrow.

Wu-Tang Clan’s last album was 8 Diagrams, released in 2007.

All nine living members joined forces once again on Wednesday’s episode of the late-night show — Method Man, Raekwon, U-God, Inspectah Deck, GZA, RZA, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa and Cappadonna.

In what can only be described as a hip-hop lover’s dream come true, five members of the group performed their new single on the show while the other members were on hand to prove that the group was indeed back together – Raekwon included.

In April, Raekwon spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about his departure from the group and the creative tension he faced with fellow Wu-Tang member RZA.

“I’m not happy with the direction of the music and I’m not happy with how dudes is treating dudes’ business,” he said then. “If it don’t feel right, I can’t be fake.”

Now, Raekwon is singing a different tune.

The 44-year-old rapper explained that the entire clan has a duty to fulfill, and he described himself as an “athlete of music.”

“We trailblazers in the music business, we been around the world, we doing our job,” he said. “I think it’s important as an athlete of music to make sure that you’ve got your business together, make sure you feel happy in whatever you want to do. You just want to feel good about it, and at the end of the day you’ve gotta have your I’s dotted and your T’s crossed in business, because we have families.”

For Ghostface Killah, the business is all about family.

“This is my life right here, me and Abbott [RZA], this is my brotherhood, so we’ve been tight since day one,” he said. “Soon as he said, ‘We coming back to do A Better Tomorrow, I’m always with it.”

He also explained that he is the perfectionist of the group.

“I’m the one that likes for everything to be right, you know, from the stage show to the wardrobes and everything and everybody be on point,” he added. “If one thing is off, it throws me off. But for the team – I’ll take one for the team. And I’ll continue. I don’t got a problem with that.”

In addition to debuting new music, the group also performed their legendary track Triumph.

A Better Tomorrow is scheduled to hit stores in November, although the group has not revealed an official release date.
