Ghanaian Medicine Man Says He Put ‘Spell’ On Ronaldo’s Leg

hi-res-109a29c6a700f5773f9ecdd42dadebbd_crop_northA medicine man from Ghana, West Africa, claims he is responsible for the  leg injury that is currently throwing Cristiano Ronaldo’s World Cup into doubt.

Ronaldo is nursing a pesky thigh muscle injury as well as a spot of patellar tendinosis in his left knee, leaving the Real Madrid superstar unable to train fully as Portugal’s opening Group G game against Germany on June 16 looms ever closer.

Nana Kwaku Bonsam,  whose name translates as “The Devil of Wednesday,” and who plies his trade at the Kofioo Kofi shrine in Kumasi, claims he foresaw Ronaldo’s injury in February and that it is entirely his doing.

According to The Guardian,  Nana Kwaku claims that he inflicted the injury on Ronaldo in a bid to help his native Ghana make it out of Group G unscathed.

“I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him. I am very serious about it,” he confessed to local Kumasi-based radio station Angel FM.

“Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called Kahwiri Kapam.

“I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo, seriously and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out though injury.

“This injury can never be cured by any medic. They can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual.

“Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else.”

Ronaldo’s injury is being officially described as a “muscle injury on the back of his left thigh as well as left-leg patellar tendinosis in his knee.  He is seeking to be available for the Group G opener on June 16. Group G also includes the United States, Germany and Ghana.
