Jay Electronica looks like he’s finally gearing up to release his next album, “Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn)” this year, releasing track after track in the last few weeks. Today, Electronica released an epic take on Soulja Boy’s “We Made It” that features Jay Z. According to consequenceofsound.net:

“For the track, Electronica teams with Jay Z, who signed him to Roc Nation in 2010. The hard-hitting collaboration hears both emcees boast about their rise to the top in between soundbites from Eastbound and Down. “Apologies go out to all of my fans cause they waited so patiently” Electronica raps in the first verse. We forgive you as long you keep delivering like this.”

“We Made It,” a Soulja Boy track, now has two epic remixes—as Drake also created his version of the track, giving it instant popularity. Now, with this Jay Electronica and Jay Z rendition of the song, it should take on a whole new level of buzz.

Jay Z also takes a shot at Drake in his verse, referring to a comment Drizzy made in a recent Rolling Stone interview. As reported by allhiphop.com:

“Jay Z also takes time to respond to Drake’s criticism of Jay Z’s art references in music. In his interview with Rolling Stone back in February, Drake stated “It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references” and that “the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”

Jay Z made sure Drake knew he heard him:

“Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk/Silly me, rapping about sh*t that I really bought/While these rappers rap about guns, they ain’t shot/and a bunch of other silly sh*t they ain’t got.”
