RHOA Porsha Stewart Defends Being Spoiled, Keeping Kordell’s Last Name

Porsha Stewart keeping Kordell's last name When The Real Housewives of Atlanta reality television star Porsha Stewart sat down with talk show host Wendy Williams, she immediately had to defend her pampered lifestyle after Wendy slammed her for being “less than smart.”

Porsha also revealed she will be keeping her husband’s last name even after the divorce is finalized.

Wendy called the reality star “less than smart,” reminding her that she is a grown woman and needs to live on her own.

“It seems like you’ve been coddled and spoiled by your mother and by Kordell,” Wendy told Porsha.

Porsha didn’t do a great job of proving Wendy wrong. According to Porsha, it’s okay to be spoiled as long as your mother is dropping some tidbits of wisdom along the way.

When Porsha moved back home after her husband Kordell changed the locks on their Atlanta home, her mother moved out of her own master suite and let her daughter move in. She also began cooking for her and making sure the wealthy 32-year-old didn’t need to lift a finger.

“While she is making breakfast, she is laying that wisdom on me every morning,” Porsha said. “She is trying to strengthen me before I got back out. Sometimes when somebody knocks you so far down, your family and your support system is who brings you back up.”

She also doesn’t want people to see her as a lazy, pampered wife.

She claimed that she took on the role of a 1950s-style housewife to make her man happy, despite Kordell’s claims that Porsha wasn’t a great housewife or mother.

“If anybody decided to be a 1950s wife, it was me,” she said. “I was an independent woman. I had my own businesses. I was a boss. I had a lot of responsibility. When I met a man who I could just cater to and just make him my world, I decided to be that way with him. I decided to make him and his son my everything….So, that was all on me.”

The divorce is only a few weeks away from being finalized, but Porsha refuses to become Porsha Williams again. She has decided to keep Kordell’s last name because she believes it represents the new woman she became after being married to the former NFL star.

“I’m going to keep Stewart,” she said. “It’s not his name. It’s my name. I was Porsha Williams and I was at one point in my life before I got married. Marriage has taught me so much. I’m a whole ‘nother woman now. So, I’m going to own that last name. It belongs to me.”

While he hasn’t responded to the interview, you can’t help but assume that Kordell would beg to differ.

Porsha also recalled the night she came home to discover she had been kicked out of Kordell’s mansion after a full day of filming.

“I had a couple drinks with NeNe, we had filmed all night,” she told Wendy. “I had gotten home around 11 p.m. maybe, and I was on the phone with NeNe while this happened. I pulled up to the house and there was a security guard there. I pulled in my driveway and he tells me, ‘I’ve been told not to let you come into this residence.’ It got really ugly, really fast.”

Kordell’s version of the story is slightly different, and only Porsha and Kordell really know what happened that night. But it did turn out to be the final straw in their marriage.
