Now that Halloween is over, Mary J. Blige and Nas are trying to take us into the heart of the holiday season with their new song. The queen of R&B has released her Christmas album last month, but this new song “Rise Up Shepherd And Follow” is from the soundtrack for the upcoming movie Black Nativity.
According to vibe.com:
“Christmas spirit is upon us. Nas and Mary J. Blige join together to spread holiday joy with ‘Rise Up Shepherd and Follow’ from the Black Nativity soundtrack. Others to appear on the soundtrack include Tyrese, Jacob Lattimore and Jennifer Hudson, who also stars in the movie.”
Mary J. Blige will be fully immersed in the holiday spirit this year as her new Christmas album, A Mary Christmas, was released on Oct. 15 and features Mary’s take on some Christmas classics.
The Black Nativity soundtrack is currently available for pre-order, and the movie will be released in theaters on Nov. 27.
