Rihanna Inks New Tattoo, Smokes with Snoop Lion

rihanna smokingBefore heading off to Puerto Rico to continue her Diamonds World Tour, Rihanna made a stop in the Dominican Republic. During her weekend stay, RihRih sat for an 11-hour tattoo session and attended a Snoop Lion concert where she was up to her usual party girl antics – despite recently stating she “hates partying”.

On Friday, Rihanna and her bestie Melissa Forde were spotted dancing and singing during Snoop’s show at the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel’s ORO nightclub.

The West Coast rapper who’s known for his love of all things marijuana, was snapped smoking a suspicious rolled-up cigarette next to the Bajan beauty who held her own smoking object. Rihanna didn’t name her vice explicitly on Instagram when she shared the photo but she did say:

“Chiefin wit a chief!! @SnoopDogg #DR by @gomillionandleupold.”

By Sunday evening the “Rude Boy” singer had tattoo artists Bang Bang McCurdy and Cally-Jo of Bang Bang NYC  fly in to begin the 11-hour session.

Bang Bang told E! News: “We drew on her hand from 7 p.m. to midnight. We were drawing and changing things. I’d take a break and Cally-Jo would draw, then I’d draw…The inspiration was henna art, we wanted something really decorative, feminine and sexy. We thought that was the closest in style where we could shift and make it look decorative.”

The new henna tattoo was incorporated into Rihanna’s existing Maori tattoo she received on a previous tour stop in New Zealand –  but not without its own trials.

“She had something pre-existing on her hand. So it was a little bit of a cover up, but also making it look good, wanted to make sure it flowed. We needed to work with what she already had,” he said, adding that  it was “difficult, because the stuff she already had was a pattern on skin. We were trying to fit the body with what she already had. Meld the two styles with a new style.”

Rihanna will be heading to her home – Barbados – on her next stop, scheduled for Nov. 1. Perhaps she will skip the urge to add another tattoo while at home.
