Jordan: He Would’ve Beaten James in His Prime

Michael Jordan believes that in his prime he could have won a one-on-one against LeBron James, but the NBA great isn’t too sure if he could have taken Kobe Bryant.

At a promoting event for NBA 2K14 video game, Jordan named a list of players he wishes he could have played one-on-one: Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Julius Erving, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Bryant and James, who are also on the cover.

“I don’t think I would lose,” Jordan, said confidently, “other than to Kobe Bryant, because he steals all of my moves.”

After the media alerted James of Jordan’s comments, the 2013 NBA League MVP responded promptly. “MJ said that? I’ve thought about the matchup, but no one will ever see it and it’s not going to happen,” James said Tuesday after practice in Nassau, Bahamas. “It’s good for people to talk about.”

James then referred to Jordan’s comments as a good push to promote the video game.

“Where he’d say this at? Oh, it was for my game? It’s good promotion then,” James said.

Jordan has sponsorship deal with 2K Sports. He first partnered with the company in 2011, when he first was featured on the cover of the game.
