First Miley Cyrus, Now ‘FOX and Friends’ Have Killed Twerking

Someone call the coroner, because twerking has probably suffered the fastest death of any dance phenomenon crossing into the mainstream. Although the word existed for more than a decade in the annals of hip-hop, within one day of Miley Cyrus putting on her corrupted version of it at the MTV VMAs, it has been re-defined by white culture in the most uncool way, and thus died as a countercultural art.

Twerk was added to the online version of the Oxford Dictionary and was defined as such: “to dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance.” This definition is the nail in the coffin and will certainly cause confusion, as evidenced by a recent atrocity witnessed on the morning talk show “Fox & Friends.” When host Gretchen Carlson and guest, actor Robert Davi attempted to show their viewers how to twerk, the dance was officially buried.

Watch the video above and witness this heinous crime for yourself. There wasn’t a single recognizable aspect of the dance in display. How disturbing!
