Iyanla: Fix My Life Season 2, Episode 5: Traci and Andre

Iyanla: Fix My Life,” season 2, episode 5: “Traci and Andre” airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. EST on OWN, where advice is given to parents who are dealing with stress originating from two adult children.

It’s the last new episode of  “Iyanla: Fix My Life”  for the summer. Tonight, life coach Iyanla Vanzant confronts a family who disapproves of a daughter’s engagement and a son’s sexual orientation.

Traci and Andre called Iyanla for help because they thought their two children — 24-year-old Jovan and 20-year-old Jazmin— were making life decisions that are tearing the family apart and causing them serious health problems.

Can Iyanla help resolve this conflict? Watch the preview below to get an idea of what episode 5 is about.

Traci and Andre have been married for more than two decades. But when their 20-year-old daughter Jazmin became engaged to a young man they didn’t approve of, they banned him from the house, causing a rift in the family.

They claim they’re just being good parents; but Iyanla says they are control freaks. Is Iyanla right about Andre and Traci being overprotective? Watch her try to make Traci and Andre understand why they need to let go.

Three years ago, Jovan told his parents he was gay and his father, Andre, has been struggling with the idea ever since.  Iyanla urges Andre and Jovan to finally have an honest discussion about Jovan’s sexuality and what that reality means to both of them. Does Andre come to terms with his son’s sexual orientation? Take a look at the conflict in the sneak peek video below.

Andre and Jovan, had a strong relationship. In fact, Andre helped Jovan discover his passion for dancing, which eventually became his profession. But after the 24-year-old, now living in Los Angeles, came out as gay, his father struggled with the news. Watch as Iyanla coaches Andre on how to come to terms with his son’s sexual orientation.
