Kick-Ass 2 has released a new, not-safe-for-work featurette online, highlighting the climactic showdown between Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz) and Mother Russia (Olga Kurkulina). This is the latest video in a barrage of red band promos coming from Universal.
The confrontation between the two characters is supposed to be part of the film’s climax, however, the studio is bizarrely hyping it up and using it as a marketing tool ahead of the film’s release Friday.
Nonetheless, the choreography seems to be fairly impressive. So it may just be a desperate, last ditch effort to entice moviegoers to see the film.
Directed by Jeff Wadlow and co-starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jim Carrey, Kick-Ass 2 opens in U.S. theaters on Aug. 16.
