Michael Crabtree Aims to Make Return This Season

A couple months ago, Michael Crabtree had surgery to repair his torn right Achilles’ tendon. Now, coach Jim Harbaugh talks about the progress of the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver and says his tendon “looks great.” He  says he is on pace to return later in the 2013 season.

“Talking to the doctor, and talking to Michael, I feel very good about where he is right now,” Harbaugh said to CSNBayArea.com. “I wouldn’t categorize it as ‘ahead of schedule’ because he’s just starting now to start moving on it. It’s been just healing so far. But it looks great. That’s the words of the doctors.”

“We’re optimistic there,” Harbaugh continued. “Michael did a tremendous job post-surgery. He stayed in town and did not leave and did not travel. He did everything he was being asked to do. They say it looks great.”

Crabtree tore his Achilles in May, on the first day of offseason training for the 49ers.
