Justin Timberlake is up to his marketing stunts again. The R&B singer has posted a teaser for the video “Take Back The Night” which will be part of a follow up to the highly successful The 20/20 Experience. Early this year, Justin’s marketing was quite effective in creating buzz, and sales for that matter, and we’ll see how effective he his on the follow up. According to MTV.com:
“In the black-and-white (Timberlake’s signature colors) teaser, Timberlake exits a convertible and holds up a series of cue cards reading: ‘Suit & Tie,’ January 14,’ ‘Mirrors,’ February 11,’ ‘The 20/20 Experience, March 19,’ ‘Take Back The Night,’ and then, a mysteriously blurred cue card that presumably bears the release date of the as-yet to be released single.”
This is hot off his controversial video “Tunnel Vision,” which originally was banned from YouTube, but then put up back as it was considered “art.”
“The timing for the cagey announcement is a bit dubious — if ‘Take Back The Night’ is indeed a new single, it will surpass ‘Tunnel Vision,’ which was bestowed with a controversial music video last week – but has not yet been promoted to radio – as the third official single from ‘The 20/20 Experience.’ ‘Suit & Tie’ and ‘Mirrors’ both reached the Top 5 of the Hot 100 chart as official singles. ‘Justin Timberlake is expected to drop part two of 20/20 Experience this September. It has been a big year for Mr. Timberlake, the first album has been the biggest seller so far. Not to mention he and Jay-z just released the title track off Jay’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail. The two are also scheduled to be on tour and then he’ll try and do it again starting with this promo video.”
