Khloe Kardashian has always been labeled as the “other” Kardashian sister and she finally opened up about how the comparisons to her sisters Kim and Kourtney have taken on a toll on her self-esteem.
Khloe Kardashian is absolutely stunning and we’re honeslty quite jealous of her curves. Despite her va va voom figure and strong facial features, she has always been compared to her sisters Kim and Kourtney and treated as if she wasn’t quite as beautiful as her petite siblings.
“I’ve always known that I’m not Kim and I’m not Kourtney,” she told the UK edition of Cosmopolitan. “I’ve always been O.K. with that. I probably thought I was prettier before I entered the spotlight because being compared to somebody else every day does sort of beat up your spirit soul.”
She then opened up about how even she has fallen victim to the media’s obsession with women being thin and how at a certain point she wondered when would she ever be good enough for the tabloids to leave her alone.
“I was quickly criticized for not being a cookie-cutter sister like Kourtney and Kim. I lost about 30lbs [in 2009] before I did ‘Kourtney And Khloé Take Miami.’ I was feeling so good about myself and I was still so critiqued. I thought, ‘Oh, my gosh, if I’m not good enough now…’ And that’s when something clicked in my brain: I have to do whatever is good for me… I feel that I’m healthier [now], but I don’t think I’m prettier thinner.”
With her struggle to not only lose weight but to decide that she wanted the body that was best for her, not best for the media Khloe K would certainly make a great spokesperson and mentor for young women who are battling the very same self-esteem issues that are often caused by the pressure the media puts on young women to be a size 2 or smaller.
The youngest Kardashian sister also revealed that the comparisons didn’t stop with how she looked.
Even she couldn’t help but compare herself to Kourtney when it comes to wondering why she hasn’t had any children of her own yet.
“I just wanted to be, ‘Hey, let’s have a baby,’ and we would just have one. Kourtney did,” she told the magazine. “And I wish that was the way for me. But it won’t be. I’ll have to take hormones. I do want to have a baby, but I don’t feel the urgency to have one this very moment.”
With her sister Kim K being pregnant it’s a guarantee that if she did get pregnant she would once again find herself being compared to her older sister in every magazine that hit the stands.
The good news is that the reality star has managed to take it all in stride and allowed the harsh comparisons to make her a better person.
“It’s made me stronger,” Khloe said. “I’ve gained another level of confidence.”
Later in the interview, Khloe discussed her sister’s love life and mentioned that Kanye West has certainly gotten the stamp of approval from her family.
“I think Kanye know how to deal with Kim really well,” the 28-year-old reality star said. “Because we’ve known him for so long, he’ll come to us if he wants advice on a birthday present or something. I like that.”
As for Kim’s ex-husband Kris Humphries, he barely reached out to the rest of the family according to Khloe.
“Kris wouldn’t even talk to us,” she added. “I love that with Kanye we have that friendship. Because when you’re with one of us you’re with all of us.”
Well with baby Kimye on the way soon, and rumors swirling that Kanye’s one remaining tweet is a hint at the baby’s due date, one can only hope that Kim and Yeezy are staying together amidst all the break up rumors.
