Kevin Hart Arrested for DUI: Admits Driving Drunk but Denies Resisting Arrest

Kevin Hart was arrested for DUI Sunday morning after a close call with a gas tank trunk on a Los Angeles freeway. While the famous comedian admitted to being drunk, he denied allegations that he was also resisting arrest.

According to TMZ, Hart was going 90 mph when the incident happened:

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers spotted the comedian driving in a black Mercedes on the 101 Freeway at around 4:30 AM PT. The CHP says he was “driving erratic,” “going 90 MPH” and “almost collided with a gas tanker truck.”

The CHP says when they pulled Hart over, he showed “objective signs of intoxication” and was “unable to perform field sobriety tests.”

Multiple sources confirmed that Hart placed a $5,000 bond to be released from a local jail where he had been booked for misdemeanor DUI.

As it turns out, Hart was lucky to only be booked for the DUI charge because he initially had been arrested for two charges – the DUI and resisting arrest

Asked about the ‘resisting arrest’ part of the charge, Hart explained “officer tried to put handcuffs on my wrists… I said wait, let me take my watch off and he said ‘you’re resisting arrest…. I laughed at it though… I was actually drunk so there’s no arguing that.”

So what did the “Real Husbands of Hollywood” star think about all this?

The 32-year-old made light of the situation on Twitter at first, but then took to the time to turn the situation into a learning experience.

“When the cop asked me to take the sobriety test I said “WHY WASTE OUR TIME…I’M DRUNK MAN” …..#TrueStory,” he tweeted.

A few moments later he sent out another tweet saying, “On some real shit….drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid shit this!”

Unlike most celebrities who have gotten pulled over for DUI, Hart even admitted that this was a major “wake up call” for him and that he has to make “smarter” decisions from now on.

With Katt Williams having his recent meltdown we’re just hoping Hart really did learn from all this and we won’t be reading about anymore Kevin Hart arrests making headlines.
