Another Lance Armstrong Movie is in the Works

The revelation of record-breaking cyclist Lance Armstrong’s steroid use over the years has had many ripple effects on pop culture. People are talking about doping and athletes, and Armstrong’s morality, and so on and so forth. Strangely, no one has questioned the wisdom of “being good at a sport” as solid criteria for role model-dom, but that’s America.

Of course, on of the predictable outcomes was the announcement that Hollywood would be turning the story into a movie. Paramount has one in the works, which has been rumored to have Bradley Cooper in talks to star as Armstrong. Now, Warner Bros has decided that they want a piece of the action as well.

WB has teamed up with Atlas Entertainment, screenwriter Scott Burns, and director Jay Roach for the film, which has no title as of yet. They’ve also acquired the life rights to Tyler Hamilton, who rode alongside Armstrong for many years, and who originally broke the news of the doping conspiracy on 60 Minutes.

Do we really need two Armstrong doping movies? No, of course not. We’ll see which one turns out to be good (because let’s face it – in a dueling film scenario, there are never two good ones).
