Amazon Studios new comedy pilot, The Onion Presents: The News will be joined by Aja Naomi King, after she was offered to star in the upcoming series.
King will co-star alongside Jeffrey Tambor and Cheyenne Jackson in the new scripted comedy that is set behind-the-scenes of the notorious, funny Onion News Network, which shows the world how far journalist will go to get their story right.
The former Emily Owens M.D. actress will play Jillian Chase, who is an overworked Associate Producer who has the dreams of becoming a reporter, but doesn’t have “the complete facial symmetry required,” as she has been told, according to Deadline.com King, co-starred in the CW’s Emily Owens M.D., as a regular before it was cancelled after just one season.
Aja Naomi King will also appear in Joshua Sanchez’s Four , which will be out this summer. As for The Onion Presents: The News, there hasn’t been an official air date as of yet. More details coming soon…
