Lady Gaga Cancels Tour
Lady Gaga has been forced to cancel her world-wide tour due to a hip injury. Last night, Live Nation released a statement confirming the situation: “The remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been cancelled. After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.”
Gaga’s twitter gave several apologies to fans, one of which read “There’s an unfortunate announcement coming out right now, concerning myself and the Born This Ball. Im so sorry. I barely know what to say.” Another tweet further explained the injury, “I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can’t.”
Fans will be refunded any purchased tickets.
American Idol Brings the Girls to Hollywood
Last night, Hollywood week continued on American Idol as more than 160 girls flew to Hollywood for a round of competition and cuts. This season, there were definitely more girls than boys going to Hollywood, which made the female auditions very intense. The show strives for a gender balance in the Top 40. All of the stress seemed to be getting to Mariah Carey, who lamented “Nobody understands what we endure.”
On tonight’s show, the remaining girls will deliver their solo performances and face another round of cuts. Then, Ryan Seacrest will reveal the season’s Top 40 contestants.
