Eva Green Cast as Dame Worth Killing For in 'Sin City' Sequel

Eva Green will be taking on the titular dame worth committing murder for in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, joining the ranks of an already stellar and surprising cast.

A recent report from Collider has named Eva Green as Robert Rodriguez’s long sought after dame, Ava Lord. The famed actress joins the likes of Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dennis Haysbert, Jeremy Piven and Bruce Willis for the upcoming sequel directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. The latter of the two had nothing but good things to say about both Ava Lord and Eva Green.

“Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City,” said Frank Miller. “From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green.”

Eva Green is best known for her role as the femme fatale in 2006’s James Bond reboot Casino Royale. Her notable work can also be seen in 2005’s Kingdom of Heaven, 2008’s comic-like Franklyn, and last year’s slightly disappointing Dark Shadows. She’ll also make a starring appearance as Atemisia in the upcoming, Miller-written film, 300: Rise of an Empire (Yes, a 300 sequel is actually happening).

Eva Green is an outstanding casting choice in an already stupendous cast. Her range is definitely worth noting, along with her already vintage driven likeness to femme fatale characters of old. It doesn’t hurt that her eyes are greener than a neon sign at a late night rendezvous either, something that will in no doubt be played with against a green screen in true Sin City fashion. Of course, like the original Sin City, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For also reeks of star power which in turn reeks of quality.  Needless to say, we’re excited.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For still has a way to go before it hits theaters, making its mark this Fall on Oct. 4. While principal photography has already began on the project, we’re sure Robert Rodriguez and Co. will find a few more names to cast alongside Eva Green before it’s too late.
