The CW’s hit drama Vampire Diaries, is in the process of getting its own spinoff series that focuses on the original family of vampires entitled, The Originals.
The potential blood-sucking science fiction show will follow Klaus (Joesph Morgan) and the Original family, which will be featured in a season four Vampire Diaries episode. Executive producer Julie Plec, who will write the episode, is working alongside Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo as executive producer.
In the pilot episode for The Originals will show Klaus as he returns to the very beginning of the supernatural saga, the French Quarter of New Orleans, there he is reunited with his evil former protege, Marcel. The Secret Circle’s Phoebe Tonkin will also star as her recurring role.
All the blood thirsty activities of The Vampire Diaries airs on The CW on Thursdays at 8/7c, and the pilot episode to The Originals will hit the small screen April 25.
