9th Wonder Transforms Jay-Z’s ‘American Gangster’ Into ‘Black American Gangster’

North Carolina repping producer, label owner and lecturer 9th Wonder brings in 2013 by turning his production wizardry on JAY Z‘s 2007 American Gangster album and transforming the LP into Black American Gangster.

Adding to his already impressive collection of remix projects, including his take on Nas‘ album God’s Son (God’s Stepson) and Jigga’s The Black Album (Black Is Back!), the Grammy award winning musician perfectly blends Shawn Carter’s 10 solo studio album accapellas with 70s era soul infused soundscapes.

“I wanted Black American Gangster to sound like a 70′s soundtrack, or to sound like a bunch of 70s groups came through and rocked with Jay…Therefore…I put “featuring” on a lot of the jams…..hope yall enjoy #BlackAmericanGangster” – 9th Wonder
