'Prisoners' Add More Great Talent By Casting Terrance Howard

Terrence Howard is the latest to join Alcon Entertainment’s Prisoners. No word on what character Howard will be playing yet, but Hugh Jackman is listed as the lead and Jake Gyllenhaal, Melissa Leo, Viola Davis, Maria Bello and Paul Dano are also set to co-star.

Deadline reports that the plot follows “a small-town carpenter Keller(Jackman) whose young daughter and her best friend are abducted. After the police fail to find them, Keller takes the law into his own hands, but in the process runs up against a detective(Gyllenhaal), a hot shot cop with confidence to burn, assigned to the case.”

Aaron Guzikowske is the author of the screenplay, who also wrote Contraband. Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson are producing along with Kira Davis and Adam Kolbrenner. Ed McDonnell and John Stark will executive produce.

The screen play must be something extra ordinary to attract a cast of this caliber because the plot is hardly original. Production on Prisoners begins shooting in February, and the film slated to be released Fall 2013.
