Stevie Nicks Apologizes for Threatening to Strangle Nicki Minaj

Stevie Nicks has made a public apology to Nicki Minaj after saying that she would have “strangled” the rapper if she had been in Mariah Carey’s shoes.

Just a day after Stevie revealed that she would have “killed” Minaj in front of all those people, she has come out to take back her vicious threat.

After word of the Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj feud got out, Nicks was irate at the fact that Nicki Minaj spoke to Carey in such a manner.

“How dare this little girl,” the 64-year-old country rock singer told the Daily. “If I had been Mariah, I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there.”

Needless to say, the public didn’t react very well to the angry threat and Nicks received a lot of backlash which forced her to apologize for the comment the very next day.

“I want to apologize for my remarks about Nicki Minaj’s behavior towards Mariah Carey which I said during a long exhausting day of interviews,” said the Fleetwood Mac singer. “It was very out of character for me and I deeply regret what I said.”

Of course, a “long exhausting day of interviews” really isn’t a great excuse for threatening to end the “Starship” rappers life, so Stevie tried to explain that she is simply very protective of Nick Cannon’s wife.

“I feel very protective toward Mariah Carey who has gone through many difficulties in her life and I spoke without thinking,” the “Secret Love” crooner added. “I think all artists should be respectful towards one another and that includes me. I am truly sorry.”

With friends like these it seems like Carey didn’t need to bump up her security at all since the “For What It’s Worth” songstress seemed more than willing to take out the wig loving rapper with her own two hands.

Of course, Carey’s husband is still sticking to the story that everything is simply being sensationalized for ratings.

“It’s been sensationalized,” Canon said while on the View yesterday. “We see how dramatic it was… At this point, we want to take all the proper safety precautions, but I don’t think we’re worried at all.”

Ironically, the America’s Got Talent host is the only one who seems to be so calm about the entire spat.

His wife called in to The View to let Barbara Walters now she was indeed fearful for her life right after she hired the extra security.

If Canon is right and the mother of his two twin babies really isn’t afraid of rapper turned pop star, then it would seem like the “Vision of Love” crooner is the one who is being dramatic about the entire situation.

However, the former Wild’n Out host did finally admit that the beef was real, but the way it exploded into the media was a bit much.

“If you ask my opinion, I’ve produced tons of television shows and I don’t know anybody who could stand with a camera phone right in front of the monitor and record it and nobody says anything,” the 32-year-old explained. “I don’t really consider that a big feud. Y’all have it all the time, just nobody got their camera phone on!”

Actually Nick, in most daily feuds there also aren’t death threats being thrown around left to right and people usually aren’t put in a position where there are afraid for their life.

So maybe Fox is going to benefit from the Mariah-Minaj spat, but at some point we have to admit that this just might be a case of tacky behavior on the ladies’ behalf… not Fox.
