Bilbo Baggins and the Thirteen Dwarfs?
The newest teaser poster for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is an unexpected delight. Featuring the film’s large dwarf posse (and some cupcakes?), this new poster highlights the humor in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings prequel. For the record, the dwarfs’ names are: Fili, Kili, Oin, Gloin, Dwalin, Balin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori, and Ori; and in the middle is their fearsome leader, Thorin Oakenshield, staring into your soul.
But don’t ask me which one is which. There’s GingerBeard, GingerBraids Pastryman, Star-Burns‘ BeardBraid cousin, the one on the left that kind of looks like an Andy Samberg SNL character, Father Time, Smug Hugh Laurie in a Fur Hat, TattooHead, and The Hot One. And a couple others.
In J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel, the dwarfs join Bilbo Baggins–at the insistence of Gandalf–on an epic sojourn across treacherous mountains and evil forests where they encounter giant spiders and goblins. So, a laugh riot.
The Hobbit opens in theaters everywhere on December 14th.
