Bill Cosby is not dead despite the rumors on Twitter and Facebook. Now the creator of the Facebook page, ‘R.I.P Bill Cosby’ who garnered over 300,000 likes, is calling everyone stupid.
“With the recent slowdown of likes and high amount of attention from news sources, I have come to the conclusion that I should tell you all the truth,” wrote the rumor starter Jonathon Gorman on Twitter.
“Bill Cosby is not deceased. I made around 315 THOUSAND people angry… Anyway I trolled the hell out of all of you and you should be ashamed… I love you all for making me laugh at your stupidity for the past day and a half. You’re great. Before I got to bed, one last thing. I hope you all have learned your lesson. DON’T RELY ON SOCIAL NETWORKING AS YOUR ONLY NEWS SOURCE.”
Wow. Cosby said this, “I don’t want to do this anymore, because this is my fourth time being reported [dead]. Emotional friends have called about this misinformation. To the people behind the foolishness, I’m not sure you see how upsetting this is.”
Perhaps Gorman can find another way to ween readers of their reliance on social media for news than toying with the life of another person, namely Bill Cosby.
