Tina of Mary Mary Gives Birth to Baby Boy in L.A.

Another baby makes four for Tina Atkins-Campbell of the gospel group Mary Mary.

The mother of three gave birth in Los Angeles to a baby boy named Santana, according to a story on Essence.com. Tina and husband Teddy already had three children; Teddy also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

“With the biggest grin plastered across his face, my husband and proud dad, Teddy, held my hand as I cried tears of joy when my doctor handed me our new son,” Tina told the website. “After nine challenging months of carrying our son, every second of it all became so worth it, in this moment. We’re so privileged to have, once again, experienced the gift of childbirth.”

The Mary Mary duo both have a growing brood: in January, Atkins-Campbell’s sister and band mate Erica gave birth to her third child, a daughter named Zaya.

The pregnancies of both of them were well chronicled on the first season of their hit WE Tv their reality show, “Mary Mary.” At one point, the duo had to cancel appearances—much to Tina’s chagrin—because Erica was too far along and wasn’t up to performing.

Fans will get to see Tina give birth on season two of the show, which began filming in May.

The finale of season one, which was a big hit for WE tv, aired on May 31.

The second season will follow the sisters through the birth of Tina’s fifth child, their latest album release – “Go Get It” – a family wedding, a cross-country album tour and countless appearances and events, all while balancing their busy, growing families. Says Erica and Tina, “”We’re super excited about season 2—more music, more mommying, more husbands, more Goo Goo, Mitchell and Ms. Honey, and definitely more fun and chaos!”

In an interview with Singersroom, Tina added, “We try to prioritize family time when it’s family time, and we try to prioritize work when we’re working.  We know that we can’t say yes to everything like we used to before children and marriage, then we have to wrap our minds around the fact that we will not be 100% involved with everything our family does because we travel a lot.”
