'Scary Movie 5' Picks Up Charlie Sheen And Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen are set to join the cast of Scary Movie 5,  the latest installment of the hard to kill horror film spoof franchise.

Studio Dimension Films have not officially confirmed either actor’s casting, but according to a report by E!, it’s pretty much a done deal.

Sheen is returning to the franchise after staring in Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4, however,  it is unclear whether he will be playing  the same character. His character was killed off in the beginning of the fourth installment, but the film ends with him appearing on Oprah, and throwing Cindy (Anna Faris) off the stage. Faris has confirmed that she will not return to reprise her role in the movie.

Lohan and Sheen are both working on making comebacks from derailed acting careers, so starring on a wildly popular comedy film may be just what they need.

On the other hand, the benefits are mutual because who would’ve been a more better choice than these two celebrities who provide some of the most laughed at  scary moments in their private lives.   It seems Scary Movie 5 producers knew exactly what they were doing with this casting decision.

Lindsay Lohan’s comeback attempt currently has her filming the TV movie Liz & Dick, a biopic about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s tumultuous relationship.

Meanwhile,  former Two And A Half Men star, Charlie Sheen,  has new television series Anger Management, which is based on the Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson movie of the same name.  He is also set to star in Robert Rodriguez’s  action movie sequel Machete Kills.

Scary Movie 5 will be directed by Malcolm Lee, who is working from a script created by David Zucker and Pat Proft. Sheen and Lohan will star alongside Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical). Kevin Hart, Anthony Anderson, and Reginal Hall are rumored to be also joining the cast. The film is scheduled to hit theaters next year on April 19th.
