Sylvester Stallone’s 36-year-old son Sage Moonblood Stallone was found dead in his Los Angeles home Friday. Police officers were called to the house at 2:17 p.m. and discovered his lifeless body. According to reports there was no sign of foul play or forced entry.
“It sounds like a terrible tragedy,” LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told PEOPLE. “He was way too young to die.” Smith also denied early reports that Sage’s death was the result of an overdose on prescription medication, stating that the toxicology report won’t be available for several weeks.
According to his attorney Sage was first found by his housekeeper.
“Sage was full of life, a wonderful, loving person,” said Braunstein. “The last time I talked to him a few days ago he was saying he was getting married, he had a lot of things he was working on and seemed very enthusiastic. There was no indication there was any problem.”
The 36-year-old was best known for his role alongside his father in Rocky V, where he played Rocky’s son Robert Balboa. His father Sylvester released the following statement:
“Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever.”
