Jennifer Lopez Says Goodbye To American Idol

It’s official Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler quit American Idol after only two seasons. The return of third judge Randy Jackson remains unknown. Just hours after Steven Tyler confirmed his decision to leave Idol JLo solidified her exit on Ryan Seascret’s radio show. Perhaps the Latin diva needed a little encouragement since hours earlier she was still stringing along her fans. Friday morning she told Ryan,

“I just don’t feel like I can be there every single day all the time like I have been for the past two years.” According to Jennifer her family and other work commitments will not allow her to continue with the successful talent show.

“You dread a conversation like this,” she told Seacrest. “I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do, that I’ve put kind of on hold because I like ‘Idol’ so much.”

Still holding back on her intentions the “Dance on the Floor” singer finally confirmed when Ryan’s radio sidekick Ellen K., said “it sounds like you’ve made up your mind,” and Lopez replied. “Yeah.”

UPDATE: The Wrap is reporting that Jennifer received the boot after requesting a $2 million raise to $17 million.
