R. Kelly In IRS Hell: Owes $4 Million In Back Taxes

R&B icon R. Kelly has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, but he apparently has not been paying taxes on a larger porter of that income. The IRS does not like that.
Kelly owes the government more than $4 million dollars in unpaid taxes, it was reported. It is not his first brush with mega tax issues.
The three-time Grammy Award winner lost his Chicago home in 2011, sending the mega star into a whirlwind of debt and turmoil. In attempt to pay off his aggregated debt, the Bump and Grind singer paid $2.6 million dollars in back taxes in 2008 and $1 million dollars in back taxes last year. Despite his efforts, the Kelly still faces a $4.8 million dollar deficit.
His spokesman insisted that the songwriter did not have an issue with money, but the 45-year-old artist was forced to give up his home after it became the subject of a legal action over unpaid mortgage payments.
Kelly has not commented on the reports issued by the Chicago Sun-Times and plans to release his 11th album later this month. Earlier this year he was named Billboard’s most successful R&B artist of the last 25 years.
