Zuleikha Robinson Lands A Recurring Role In 'Homeland'

Zuleikha Robinson has joined the second season of the Showtime series Homeland. The actress will play in a recurring role.

In her new part, the 34-year-old will play Roya Hammad, a Middle Eastern woman who has links to a terrorist organization. She is not just a ordinary women though, Hammad is also a field journalist with a special relationship to Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban). Robinson’s character will clash with Brody (Damian Lewis) when she delivers a chilling ultimatum.

Zuleikha Robinson is a British television and film actress, brought up in Thailand and Malaysia by a Burmese-Indian mother and an English father. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, and best known for playing Ilana in the ABC show Lost. In 2006, she played a Bengali character called Moushumi Mazumdar in Mira Nair’s acclaimed film The Namesake. Robinson had a supporting role in the HBO series Rome, and played Eva Marquez, a NYPD detective, in the television drama on Fox, New Amsterdam (Wiki).

Homeland returns on Showtime Sunday, Sept. 30 at 10 p.m.
