'The Dark Knight Rises' Gets Two New TV Spots

Marketing for Warner Bros’ The Dark Knight Rises is definitely in full swing after the studio released four new TV spots for Christopher Nolan‘s final Batman movie. The first two were released last week, with two more following yesterday and today.

Instead of the same old dark and gloomy depictions of previous previews, the first of the latest Dark Knight Rises TV spots shows a lighter side of Bruce Wayne (played by Christian Bale). An element of humor is introduced into a scene where Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), attempts to tempt Bruce out of retirement with promises of new toys. In the short clip, Fox introduces him to the latest vehicle in the arsenal, the Bat.

The second Dark Knight Rises TV spot doesn’t show much new footage, but the clip of  Alfred (Michael Caine) reminding Master Wayne, “You’re not Batman anymore,” is memorable.  This is followed by glimpses of what is seen in other trailers, a gloomy Gotham City on the brink of destruction with all hope fading.

Besides Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman, The Dark Knight Rises stars Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The movie rises in theaters and IMAX on July 20th.
