Last Thursday, during her interview on The Conversation with Amanda de Candenet on Lifetime, Zoe Saldana revealed that she thinks getting a breast augmentation sounds like a pretty good idea. Apparently being a lithe, incredibly sexy action superstar isn’t good enough for the star of Avatar and Colombiana.
The idea struck the actress when someone told her to “buy herself a pair of titties.” Instead of getting upset with the person, Saldana figured they just might be right.
The plastic surgery debate is no foreign topic to the Lifetime network, but it is rare that it is discussed in such a manner as Saldana addressed it. Zoe Saldana seemed to view breast augmentation less as a procedure, and more as a purchase. She went on to say, “If an old man was having a midlife crisis and can buy a Porsche and date a 17-year old, I can buy myself a pair and be the sexiest soccer mom you’ve ever seen.”
Although buying a motorcycle and paying for breast augmentation isn’t the best comparison, it was enough to push Saldana to consider buying herself a pair. Later in the interview Saldana did seem to find a better way to explain why she believes plastic surgery just isn’t that big of a deal.
“As long as you’re doing it for reasons that are balanced for you [it’s okay]. It’s not even about judging what’s right or wrong.” Although a conversation about “buying titties” doesn’t usually lead to a life lesson, the Colombiana actress shared some rather respectable morals and values during the interview.
“There’s nobody on this earth who can tell you that what you’re feeling is wrong. They can tell you it’s different to what they’re feeling,” Saldana explained.
She simply feels that breast augmentation does not change who you are, but rather just makes you feel a little better. With this being said, it is apparent that Saldana has nothing against people who decide to change their appearance via plastic surgery, but she does have something against people trying to change who they are as a person.
“What doesn’t feel okay to me, what feels a little bit out of balance, is when you want to turn yourself into something else – when you want to be another person,” she said.
