Ray Liotta may star in the upcoming film The Rut. The actor is currently in negotiations to play the villain in the movie which is slated as an independent film.
The Rut is based on teenager Alexandria Heller, who will be played by Chloe Moretz, who is looking to win her hunter father Ray’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) approval. In a crazy way, she heads out into the woods to hunt down her own deer.
Liotta will play a hunter who is obsessed with bow hunting and who is also in heavy competition with Morgan.
Kevin Caruso wrote the script, which has been compared to movies such as Winter’s Bone, The Deer Hunter and Whale Rider. Aaron Magnani and Martha Griffin are producing the film. Teri and Trevor Moretz are executive producing.
Besides The Rut, Liotta will next appear in Killing Them Softly with Brad Pitt. The actor will also appear in The Iceman, a serial killer film with an exciting cast which includes Chris Evans, James Fracno, Michael Shannon and Winona Ryder.
