It has been confirmed that Warner Bros. will be showing the new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises during the previews to Marvel’s The Avengers. The news comes from Waner Bros. Pictures’ exclusive exhibitor site, a site that manages what trailer will play during what movie for the studio.
Below is a screen shot of the trailer placements for films in the theaters April 27th 2012 and May 5th 2012. It shows that during The Avengers 2D/3D or IMAX 2D/3D showing, a new version of The Dark Knight Rises will play.
This type of cross studio promotion is becoming more popular in Hollywood. Back in December the first Dark Knight Rises teaser was promoted for a limited time only in IMAX theaters before Paramount’s Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal. Also, the trailer for The Dark Knight debuted during Iron Man back in 2008 and the trailer for Inception played in the previews of Iron Man 2.
The Avengers hits IMAX 2D/3D and regular theaters on May 5th.
