Denise Richards says she is “really excited” to guest star on ex-husband Charlie Sheen’s new FX sitcom Anger Management.
“Finished the table reading for #AngerManagement,” Richards tweeted on Friday the 13th. “Funny episode! Really excited to be part of the show…”
According to TV Line, Richards’ character will be Lori, the new business partner of Charlie’s TV ex, played by Shawnee Smith.
Anger Management is based on the 2003 film with the same name, starring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler. Sheen plays a former baseball player, named Charlie, who struggles with anger management issues, but manages to become a therapist who helps people with their anger problems.
Selma Blair will star alongside Sheen playing another counselor and his possible love interest, while Sheen’s real life father, Martin Sheen, will play his onscreen dad.
Richards and Sheen married in 2002 and divorced in 2005 while Richards was pregnant with their youngest daughter Lola. After going through a tumultuous post-divorce period, which resulted in Richards filing a restraining order against Sheen, the former couple have developed a friendship. They also often spend time together with their children.
Anger Management is set to debut on June 28. The recently released teaser video featuring Charlie Sheen is below.
