Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games remains on top of the box office for its third week in a row, grossing $33.5 million domestically, and even more in foreign markets, for a grand total of $460 million.
American Pie: Reunion set a record for the franchise landing the fourth installment at #2 for the weekend. Grossing $21 million domestically and coming in at number one in Russia, Norway, Australia and The Netherlands.
After a disappointing start, Warner Bros’ Wrath Of The Titans has picked up in the foreign market. The film is down -43 percent from its opening weekend, which Warner Bros deemed satisfying, bringing its international cumulative number to $152 million. The movie opens in Japan April 1st.
Paramount/Fox’s re-release of Titanic performed as expected, standing strong in third place this weekend. The film managed to draw in $17.2 million for the holiday weekend bringing it to a total $25.7 million worlwide, and placing #1 in Germany, Austria, UK, Italy and Sweden.
