Lady Gaga Reaches 20 Million Followers On Twitter

Lady Gaga has reached another high—she has amassed a million followers in less than a month, making her the most followed person in Twitterverse, bringing her Twitter following to a whopping 20 million! That’s bananas!

The social media queen who is known for her appalling get-ups, is the most stalked person ever, well in Twitterland, the “Born This Way” singer has broken the record for the most followed person to date on the micro-blogging social networking site. Two million shy of the winning mark is Justin Bieber, whose crazed “Belibers” broke a Twitter record as well—retweeting @justinbieber over 300,000 times by 9 P.M. on the teen idol’s birthday, March 1.

Katy Perry has 15.7 million followers and Shakira nearly 14.6 million followers. Rihanna is close behind with more than 14.5 million followers; a sign that fans feel that following their favorite music artists can bridge them closer because of a possible retweet or sheer excitement of knowing what their idols are doing throughout the day.

Gaga also rules on YouTube, the “Just Dance” singer has a billion views, yes with a b, as of October 2010. She’s unstoppable!

Remember when actor Ashton Kutcher challenged CNN to reach 1 million Twitter followers back in 2009? That was a big deal, though that number seems minuscule now when fast-forward three years, Gaga accumulated a million followers in less than a month to add to the other 19 million she already had. Kutcher now has over 9 million to CNN Breaking News 6.6 million followers.

How does Gaga do it?

Besides her performances and wonderment of her theatrical fits, Gaga tweets frequently to her “Little Monsters” about her latest projects. Her latest project was the Harvard launch for the Born This Way Foundation which serves as a ”safe community that helps connect young people with the skills and opportunities they need to build a braver, kinder world.”

@LadyGaga is her Twitter handle if you wanna see what all the fuss is about! Congrats on breaking yet another record Gaga!
