Michael Jackson's Complete Back Catalogue Stolen By Hackers

Almost a year after Sony Pictures and the PlayStation Network faced vicious hacking attacks, reports have emerged that Sony Music suffered its own breach in the UK in 2011.

Two British men were arraigned in a United Kingdom court on Friday over charges that they illegally downloaded more than 50,000 Sony Music files.

Most of the files downloaded were said to be by the late “King Of Pop” Michael Jackson. The alleged British hackers are said to have stolen Jackson’s music, including unreleased songs and works by other artists.

In 2010, Sony and the Jackson estate signed the largest recording deal in history, granting the company the rights to sell the singer’s complete back catalogue along with previously unreleased tracks.

Sony realized their security was breached during routine monitoring of Jackson fansites and hacking forums. The British men have denied all charges and are due to stand trial in January 2013.
