Scarlett Johansson is the latest to join the cast of Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. The Avengers star will play Janet Leigh, whose life is brutally hacked away in the famous shower scene. Watch the scene that Johansson will be in below.
Anthony Hopkins is signed on to play Hitchcock and Helen Mirren will play his wife, Alma Reville. This project is based on the book by Stephen Rebello. Originally, Hitchcock, who was at the height of his career as a director, decided to remake the book as a low-budget horror movie. To no surprise, no studio would touch it with a 10-foot pole. Hitchcock struggled to finance it himself, only to have it become one of his most influential movies.
This project recently was passed over to Fox Searchlight after four years in development at Paramount. Montecito Pictures Co. will be producing the film directed by UK born Sacha Gervasi and written by John Mclaughlin.
