Nick Cannon Health: Hospitalized Days Before Quitting Radio Show

Nick Cannon’s health has become his first priority…finally! After Mr. Showbiz found himself in the hospital for the second time in three months he was forced to quit his New York radio show “Rolling With Nick Cannon” at WXRK (92.3 FM).

“I was actually trying to downplay it a lot – even in my own mind – not go to the hospital because I was having a lot of pain in my back and I thought it was the typical kidney pain that I had been experiencing, but I thought it had been a little bit heightened…., revealed Nick after his second trip to the hospital.”

“Because of the blood clots in my lungs, I also had an enlarged ventricle in my heart. My antibodies [in] my immune system were attacking my organs and it made my body even weaker.”

If Nick Cannon, who’s married to Mariah Carey and father to their nine month old twins did not take a break, his life would be cut short.

“My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me – and he’s not joking. I think part of the reason why my health did kind of deteriorate was because I wasn’t resting a lot and I was doing too much.”

Sources close to the hard working entertainer believed he should have taken time off since December to rest, telling People magazine,

“He didn’t give himself time out of hospital. It was getting worse.”

“Waking up that early in the morning and his travel schedule was grueling. He should have been recovered at this point.”

Despite the seriousness of his health, it still pains Nick Cannon to walk away from his work,

“I’m quite frustrated and sad, but It’s definitely the best thing.”

Cannon will continue to host “America’s Got Talent” in Los Angeles and his syndicated show “Cannon’s Countdown.” It was reported that Nick hoped to join his wife Mariah at Whitney Houston’s funeral but his health did not allow it.
