Sanaa Lathan and Anthony Mackie hosted the 43rd NAACP Image Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The big winner of the night was The Help with the film winning for Outstanding Motion Picture as well it’s lead actress Viola Davis winning Outstanding Actress and her co-star Octavia Spencer winning for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Performers for the evening included Jill Scott, Lenny Kravitz and a duet from Jennifer Hudson and Ne-Yo of the Dianna Ross classic “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”. Gospel singer Yolanda Adams received a standing ovation for a rousing tribute to Whitney Houston.
Celebrities in attendance included Paula Patton, Regina King, Keke Palmer, Sean Diddy Combs, Tia and Tamera Mowry, Vanessa Williams, Meagan Good, Taraji P Henson, Amber Riley and many others.
