Robert Downey Junior’s wife, Susan, has given birth to their new son, who was born today (February 2) in Los Angeles, CA.
“Everyone is healthy and they couldn’t be happier,” a friend of the couple says.
Exton Elias Downey weighed in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces and stretched out to 20 inches long.
In August, “The Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” star mistakenly revealed the sex of the baby on national television. An accident that didn’t sit well with his wife.
“I could never really stay mad at him, but I can tell you it genuinely wasn’t something we planned to reveal,” Susan, 38, later explained.
During the interview, Downey kept his mouth shut about the baby’s name though, jokingly saying that, “If I told you the name, then she would lop off my head with a machete.”
In December, while on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, the actor poked fun at his wife as he talked about her condition during her pregnancy.
“I don’t wanna be presumptuous,” the actor said. “But I think [the pregnancy] has been tougher on me. Just the hormones and the mood stuff, and the nausea, and the whole thing.”
This is the couples first child together, and it’s the second for Downey, who has an 18-year-old son, Indio, from his previous marriage.
