Mary J. Blige Candidly Talks Love And Addiction On Wendy Williams

Mary J. Blige, the reigning queen of Hip Hop & Soul, stopped by the Wendy Williams’ show where she made good on her promise of having no limitations on questions.

The ever swanky “Real Love” singer wore a form fitted, royalty-hued leopard Dolce & Gabbana dress complimented by the perpetual red bottoms in black.

Since Wendy was given the green light to ask indiscriminate questions of her choice, she dove right in about the Grammy award winner’s rumored rocky marriage to Kendu Isaacs.

“My marriage is not on the rocks, but I would be a liar and my fans would hate me if I said to them, ‘Oh, we’re perfect and everything is great’,” Mary said. “We have situations just like everyone else. We’re not out in public trying to kill each other, but it’s real. We love each other.”

Mary, who further eluded past issues may have once spiraled her into seeking unhealthy means of dealing, insists she’s a far cry from that now: “I don’t need alcohol to get me out of depression or get me out of a bad moment.

While Mary is not opposed to having a cocktail here or there, she is adamant about her limits.

“As long as you’re not killing yourself and hurting yourself and the thing is not controlling you, ‘cause that’s what I did years ago, I traded the coke for the alcohol,” she said. “That’s why you can honor yourself with an occasional drink, because I went through that. I went through that whole period of, ‘Oh shoot, I’m an alcoholic’.”

Blige recently celebrated her 40th birthday, but doesn’t discount having children with husband Kendu, who already has three children from a previous relationship. However, Mary intends to get pregnant when the time is right, and not to follow a “trend”.

Mary J.Blige’s latest CD, My Life II, is now available.
