Marvel Studios has finally found their “Thor 2” director. According to sources, Alan Taylor has replaced Patty Jenkins to direct the sequel. Taylor’s recent work includes Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and Nurse Jackie, and he also directed the film Palookaville.
Jenkins was originally selected for the job but then quit over creative differences with Marvel. She mentioned that she was thankful for the job, but differences in vision is what caused her to split from the project.
Actor Chris Hemsworth will once again play the superhero. The original Thor was directed by Kenneth Branagh and grossed $448 million worldwide. After Thor, Hemsworth played a role opposite Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron in “Snow White and the Huntsman”.
‘Thor 2’ will be released November 15, 2013.
