A person would think from the looks of this image that it was a digital re-mastered photo of Abraham Lincoln…. or somehow, some way, there’s a ghost of one of our most favorite leaders walking the earth. Well, it’s neither! Daniel Day-Lewis was spotted having lunch in a restaurant in Richmond, Virginia while shooting Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln.’ Michael Phillips, who is a local, spotted the star and managed to snap this picture. Good eye, Michael!
The Academy may just have to skip the long drawn-out ceremony and just send Lewis his 2nd Oscar now. The resemblance is striking. Its’s safe to say, Daniel Day-Lewis is one of worlds most talented actors, and also one of the most selective actors. Lewis is known for only choosing roles that deeply connect to him.
Spielberg’s biopic will not go through Lincoln’s life as a young boy, but rather Lincoln as President and the challenges he faced with the powerful men in his cabinet during his path to abolish slavery, end the Civil War, and preserve the Union.
Also starring Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, John Hawkes, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, Tim Blake Nelson, David Strathairn, Jackie Earle Haley and David Oyelowo.
